Here's what I'm working on

The picture you're seeing here is a snapshot of part of my desk.

Whenever I'm working on a new book I print out the pages and start laying them out. I look at them, figure out what needs to be edited, and what should be scrapped.

Trust me, there are at least as many rejects as there are illustrations that make it to the books!
I like to call the ones that don't make it the 'crap heap'.

The theme of my next book is somewhat like Cheer the F*ck Up. Sort of positive, but still snarky.

It's for the days when I have good intentions to do good things and be a 'good person'.

Those intentions are usually shot to hell by 11am.

But that doesn't mean it isn't fun to make fun of those days when I try to give a shit!
And this book is all about that.

Originally I was going to make this into a coloring journal, kind of like Cheaper than Therapy. But I've decided it needs to be what it is - a coloring book and a coloring book only.

But if you love coloring journals, fear not, I've got more in the works.

When will this book be released? I don't know yet. Likely the end of May or some time in June.

Until then, I'll keep creating it. And try to come up with a name for the book. That's kind of important. Maybe I should hold a naming contest...hmmm...what a good idea!

Can't wait!!! Also I absolutely love the option of pdf books. You don't know how many pictures I've thrown away because they didn't look right! Now I can just print a new one.

I'm so excited! I love PDF digital editions because I ruin pages and then they are gone. When you can print another, it's great. Sometimes, I get half way through coloring a page and look at it and know I hate it and don't want to finish it. It's a waste of time and material.

These are all great sneak peeks so far of your latest book! I think my favorite is the one about hating inspirational quotes as well, too funny! I'm also a huge fan of the PDF's-though I still bought 2 hard copies of Cheaper Than Therapy on top of it as gifts!

I think the 'snarky' theme has definitely taken off, with some great suggestions! As everyone else said, I agree that the first suggestion is awesome! I was also thinking that perhaps something filled with your snark such as, 'Uninspiring Inspirations,' or even like, "How Inspirational Am I?!,' would also be possibilities as well? I even had the title, 'Inspired snark' go through my head-so many possibilities! I am so excited to watch as this book progresses. Love your work Sasha, phenomenal.

Also, I love the little tagline under your name below: perfectly snarly, adorably you! I'm sure each bog post will leave me smiling, and I think expressing your opinions will be majorly fun, woohoo!

I really like the Rhino are just a fat unicorns. I have a friend who's hardcore into unicorns and of course she's my polar opposite, she'll be getting that one. As for the book, how about, Suck it up, Buttercup: Inspirational quotes to sooth the snarky soul.

Good Intentions Shot to Hell, is my suggestion, but the ones already suggested are great also. Keep a list for future title options. BTW, your good intentions last longer than mine, which are gone by the time I get out of bed. 😟

PDF format is the way to go, absolutely, in addition to a hard copy.

As for us "doing your work for you"....I'm in another development group. A few months, ago, we were asked to submit favorite quotes, or thoughts. The artist chose their favorites, & the artwork was desighned based on those quotes. This actually was done twice. If you want more details, let me know, Oh High Queen, you know where to find me.

oh, this looks exciting! Love the Rhino one, and the one about inspirational qoutes. Also glad your working on another coloring journal- i LOVE Cheaper Than Therapy, will be buying a second copy (also printing out or cutting out pages from other books and putting them into a journal- if you like i can share a photo when it've gotten it somewhere- that's how much i like the space to vent and tell everything to go fuck off along with coloring!
